Hello My Friends. I am so excited to have you join me today for Week 3 of Christmas in July with a Twist. Today we are going to be giving our cards of Twist with a cuppa tea. I think these cards are Absolutely Adorable and I think you are going to love them as well. Just look at that little snowman, he is so cute. Who is ready to go on a new Stampin Adventure with me.

If this is your first time visiting my blog…Welcome. I would encourage you to go back and visit my other posts to see what we have been doing with Christmas in July with a Twist. The idea behind these posts is to show you ways that you can use your stamps for many seasons and make them stretch in new and fun ways. You start with a basic card fold that you use for both cards and a main image as well. This week we are using the cuppa from the Cup of Tea stamp set. We are actually using the die cut image to create little cups for our critters to sit in. As you can see the snowman fits perfectly and looks Adorable. I cut my tea cups out of our new Real Red and White Glimmer paper found in the Mini Catalog. I love Everything Glitter. Our Glitter paper does not shed glitter, so not only is this paper Gorgeous it is also Brilliant as well. I also wanted to share a few tips and tricks that you can do when cutting out your images. We have Adhesive Sheets in the Annual Catalog and they are Brilliant. You attach them to the back of the Glimmer paper and everything you cut out becomes a sticker. How cool is that. I also cut out all the main images I need for my projects, but I don’t waste any of that Fabulous paper. I pulled out all kinds of small images to fit into the little spaces so that I have cute glasses, umbrellas, hats, etc. for future projects. You stretch your money and your time by using up all the scraps. I love showing you fun ways to save.

I knew I wanted to see this Adorable snowman in a cuppa cocoa and I loved using the Die cuts on that White Glimmer paper. I think he turned out so cute. I also used the Glimmer paper to cut out little hats for our snowman. I stamped different colored scarves and cut those out as well. I introduced this idea in the Joy Fold cards with the adorable Hippos from Sale-A-Bration. You can go revisit that post in my blog. There are so many possibilities for this Snowman Magic Stamp Set. It really is Magical.

I also knew I needed to revisit this Joyful Flurry Stamp Set. They make the perfect companion to our little snowman friend. I love snowflakes and they look great inside and outside the card.

Did you know that Stampin Up makes card kits.? You can buy the cards I used for this Christmas in July card from the New Mini Catalog. This set is called Santa Express and you get a set of 20 cards and matching envelopes for $11. That is a Great Deal and they are already scored for you as well. These cards Measure 6 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ if you decided you want to recreate your own cards later on. I love all the different Memories and More Card and Envelope sets that we offer. Make sure to go check them all out in my store.

For this project we are also going to revisit the Sweetest Christmas DSP. Why do I want you to know that we are using a product more than once, because I want you to see how far you can stretch your money with just a few products. I also want you to see how versatile our products are and how fun they are to use in some many different ways. I have already created 20 Hippos cards with this same DSP and now I will create 20 snowman cards as well. Guess what…I still have more DSP left to make another fun creation. This time I used the Candy Canes from the DSP. I fussy cut them to add to our cuppa cocoa. Your measurements for your DSP on your Chirstmas card are 4″ x 2 5/8″ on the outside and 5 1/4″ x 1″ for the inside. Don’t you love this Gorgeous paper.

Here are a few more fun Tips and Tricks for you. You can think outside of the box with our punches and embellishments and use them to create fun new ideas. I used our cloud punch to create the hot cocoa effect behind our snowman. I also used some of our dot embellishments to give him his cute little nose. You are truly only limited by your imagination.
I also wanted to show you the colors I used on our Christmas in July Card. I used the pool party for the smallest snowflake on the tag and inside the card. However, I used Orchid Oasis for the smallest snowflake on the outside of the card. I wanted to make the snowflakes pop against the dark colors of our card bases.

The Twist of Tea for this week makes me Giddy. I Absolutely adore how this card turned out and I want to keep making them over and over to send to everyone. Don’t you just love them. Let’s break down everything we used to make this Fabulous card.

A great card starts with a great stamp set. I knew I HAD to have the Glad We’re Friends set as soon as I saw that Guinea Pig. I actually squealed with joy over it and My daughter, who never squeals, did the same. She was like… Mom you HAVE to get that IMMEDIATELY. I completely agreed with her and it was one of the first items I purchased when the Annual Catalog went live this year. I think that Corgi is adorable as well. You will notice that I fussy cut both of my cute critters for this card. This set does not come with dies, but I find fussy cutting to be relaxing, so that works for me. I also want to share with you that the Corgi and the fan are in the same stamped image, so you will need to fussy cut them apart. Or you can cut the images apart on the stamp…WHAT. I know that will not be the answer for everyone, but that is what I chose to do. The beauty of owning your own stamps.

Here is another Fabulous Memories and More Cards and Envelopes set, but the measurements are a different size. This set of cards measures 5 1/2′ x 4 1/4/’. This one is called Tea Boutique and it is actually included in a Suite with the Cup of Tea Stamp and Die Set we used this week. I love this set because it is so versatile and it uses all the New In Colors that were introduced this year. So what is a Suite and what are In Colors…I am so glad you asked. Stampin up sells all their products individually, but they have also created Suites of products that all coordinate with each other. Buying your products as a Suite gives you a discount and helps you to be able to make a lot of Beautiful projects that seamlessly match. It is a Win-Win.
Stampin up is always watching the latest color trends and finding new and inventive ways to incorporate them in their products. We have 4 Color Family Groups that always stay the same and give your a variety of Wonderful Colors to choose from. They are the Neutrals, Brights, Regals and Subtles. Then Stampin up will Introduce a New Set of In Colors each year. This way you will always have fun new colors to add to your collection and they give new life to your projects.
- Here are the New In Colors this Year and they are shown in the picture above.
- Parakeet Party
- Tahitian Tide
- Sweet Sorbet
- Orchid Oasis
- Starry Sky

I could not resist using this Amazing Sale-A-Bration set once again. You can get these stamps and this Amazing matching DSP for FREE when you place a $100 order before ship and tax. This is definitely a deal you do NOT want to miss out on. Remember that Sale-A-Bration ends August 31st so make sure you snatch up all these Fabulous FREE products. This DSP is Stunning and the flowers are Gorgeous as well. For this card I turned it horizontal so the measurements are slightly different. The front DSP piece measures 5 1/4″ x 2″ and the inside piece measures 5 1/4″ x 1. I loved cutting out all those Beautiful big flowers to use in the tea cup with our Guinea pig.

I wanted to show you the main colors that I used for my Tea card as well as some of the other fun embellishments. The colors of my flowers are Starry Sky, Fresh Freesia, and Rich Razzleberry. I used the Black Memento on both cards for my words. I also added color to the card by using Stampin Blends to color in my Corgi and Guinea Pig. I also used champagne embellishments on this card. They are shown in the picture above of all the gem embellishments I also used on the Christmas card.
I used this punch to pop up the sentiment on both of my cards. I gave the punch a shadow effect by using matching DSP to surround the white stamped image. I did this same effect on last weeks card so you will want to go check out that blog and video as well.

I am not sure I have shown you this Wonderful Holder yet. My Friend Donna had this made for me for Christmas. It is purple, it has my name on it and it has Butterflies. I could not have picked a better gift. I am truly Blessed by it and I look at it every day as I create. I truly love it and what I love more is the thoughtfulness. I am so Grateful for all of my Friends.

This card set comes with 5 different colored cards, so I had to make one of each for our little friends. I am not even sure I can pick a favorite. Did you notice that the Corgi and the Guinea pig are wearing hats. Both of these hats come from the Snowman Magic set, but they are perfect for this Summer time tea party. I think they add the final touch to these cards and help to make them truly Magical. Do you have a Favorite. Please let me know in the comments. I always love to hear from you and would love to have you share my blog as well.

Here are the two cards together to show off a Twist of Tea with Christmas in July. I love all things Christmas and I think that snowman is Amazing, but my heart might be leaning toward our summer tea party for this one. What do you think. Will you vote Christmas or Summer this week. I also realized that I added the hats after I took this picture. I definitely think the hats are a Special extra touch.

I struggled to do my blog this week and to get my video done as well because I have been in more pain this week. I went to the My ENT doctor for my monthly face clean out and he wanted to do a scan of my face as well. The clean out is always painful, but it seems to help, so I am grateful. However, there is a huge mass up in the top of my head and I will need to have surgery in August. I was pretty overwhelmed that day and I have struggled to not let fear and worry consume me as I prepare for this surgery. I know that everyone deals with life differently and that is ok. My way of coping is that I choose to pray. I have spent a lot of time laying down my fear and worry at the feet of Jesus. So however you believe, I would appreciate your loving thoughts and\or your prayers if you have them. I will keep you posted as I go along.
